Step 1

The exchange

Step 2

You, the organizer

You draw a name like everyone else. Your admin link goes to this email.

Step 3

Everyone else

One person per row. Emails are optional; anyone without one gets a link you can share yourself.

Step 4 (optional)

Who should not draw each other

Couples, siblings, people who already exchange gifts. Neither person in a pair will draw the other.

How the draw works

Every name is placed in a single loop so each person gives to exactly one other person and receives from exactly one. Nobody can draw themselves, and any pair you exclude is checked against the loop before it is accepted. If your exclusions make a complete loop impossible, which happens with small groups and several couples, the tool says so and asks you to remove one rather than forcing a match.

Assignments are stored once and never shown in full to anyone, the organizer included. Each participant's link carries a signed token, so changing the address does not let someone open a different draw.

What each person receives

Anyone added with an email gets a message from the organizer's name with a button to see their draw. The reveal page shows the name they drew, the budget, the date and the note, then two things that make the gift easier: the questionnaire answers their person has filled in, and a short list of gift ideas built from those answers and the budget. It also asks them to fill in their own questionnaire so their Santa has the same help.

Anyone added without an email gets a private link on your admin page. Text it, message it or hand it over. When they open it they enter an email before the reveal, which keeps a record of who has seen what and lets the organizer resend if a phone is lost.

Before you draw

Agree the budget first, then the date, then the rules on regifting and gag gifts. The rules page covers the six decisions that stop an exchange from going wrong, and most groups only need to make three of them. If your group is spread across cities, the virtual Secret Santa guide covers shipping deadlines and the video-call reveal.

Common questions

Does everyone need an email address?

No. Add emails for the people who have them and they get their draw by email straight away. Anyone added without an email gets a private link on your admin page that you can text or hand to them; they enter an email when they open it so their draw stays on record.

Can I stop couples or siblings from drawing each other?

Yes. Add an exclusion for any pair and the draw guarantees neither of them gets the other. If your exclusions make a full draw impossible, the tool tells you instead of quietly matching someone with themselves.

Can I see who drew whom?

No, and neither can anyone else. The organizer admin page shows who has opened their link and who has filled in their questionnaire, but never the assignments. The organizer draws a name like everyone else.

What if someone drops out after the draw?

Create a new group. A fresh draw takes a minute and is the only fair way to handle it; editing a single assignment after the fact means someone knows who has whom.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no paid tier and no account. The site earns a small commission when someone buys through one of the Amazon gift-idea links on the reveal page; it costs nothing extra and is the only way the site makes money.

PartyGameKit is free to use. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases made through links on this site; that commission does not change the price you pay, and it is the only way the site makes money.
